Most fans of Poppy Playtime expected chapter three to release next, but the upcoming spin-off title might be exactly what the franchise needs.

Most fans of Poppy Playtime would’ve expected the next installment in the series to be Chapter 3, but there’s a good reason why it isn’t. The indie horror took the internet by storm, quite similar to how Five Nights At Freddy’s did years ago. Just like FNAF, fans are eagerly awaiting what happens next in the story. Although players will have to wait a bit longer for Chapter 3, MOB Games has prepared a spin-off title for fans to experience in the meantime.

An advantage FNAF still has over Poppy Playtime is the sheer number of game releases, but the latter is looking to close the gap with Project: Playtime, a co-op spinoff releasing before the expected Chapter 3 that will grant players the ability to explore the Playtime factory with friends for the first time. The internet, memes, and content creators have been key to indie horror games reaching viral status, and Poppy Playtime is no different. With Project: Playtime being co-op, hilarious reactions of online personalities won’t just be shared with their viewers, but with fellow content creators as well. Co-op horror games are scarce, especially outside the asymmetrical multiplayer horror sphere, so Project: Playtime is a chance for MOB Games to set its series even further apart.
