SIOUX FALLS, SD. – The Tri-City Storm is set for tonight’s Black Friday game on the road against the Sioux Falls Stampede. Tonight’s matchup will be the first of the season between the Stampede and the Storm. Puck drop for tonight’s road game at the Denny Sanford PREMIER Center is scheduled for 7:05pm CT.
Tri-City (6-9-0-1) fell to 1-3-0-0 in head-to-head matchups against Lincoln this season in Wednesday’s 5-4 road loss at the Ice Box. Evan Werner scored twice during the battle to tie his previous career high for single season goals. Graham Gamache also netted his fifth goal of the year in the loss. Tri-City has posted a 3-6-0-1 record over the last ten games. The Storm has allowed 69 goals this season, the second most of any team in the USHL (Madison-76). Tri-City’s 46 goals scored this year are the 6th most in the Western Conference. The Storm netted multiple powerplay goals in Wednesday’s road loss to the Stars. Tri-City has now scored at least two powerplay goals in each of the last three games. The streak of scoring multiple powerplay goals in consecutive games constitutes the longest streak this season. Tonight’s game will be the first between the Storm and the Stampede in 223 days, and the first of this year’s eight-game season series between the two Western Conference opponents.
