Nintendo releases Switch console firmware update 15.0.1, bringing some bug fixes and more improvements to general system stability.
On Halloween night, Nintendo Switch console users were given a treat in the form of firmware update version 15.0.1. The update came just a few weeks after the release of Nintendo Switch version 15.0.0, which brought mostly under-the-hood changes to the console firmware.
Just three weeks prior, on October 10, Nintendo Switch version 15.0.0 was released. In that update, changes were made to the Bluetooth Audio menu and to the capabilities of the Capture Button in the Nintendo Switch Online app. By comparison, version 15.0.1 was just the latest in a pattern of supplemental updates released by Nintendo every few weeks. Each of these supplemental updates fell within the scope of the most recent major version at the time. Earlier this year, version 14.0 was released in March, with three continued updates from April to June.
In version 15.0.1, two major bug fixes were among the listed changes. According to the update notes released by Nintendo, an issue was resolved that caused Error Code: 2181-1000 to appear. This occurred when playing downloadable content for certain games on a different console than the primary console that was registered to the user.
