Sony has shared the top downloaded games for Dec. 2022 over on the PlayStation Blog, and there are some interesting entries. The lists have both US/Canada and EU columns, broken down into a Top 20 games for the PS5 and PS4, and a Top 10 for both the PS VR and free-to-play games (combining both PS4 and PS5). December is certainly a busy time of year for digital downloads in these regions, covering the entire Christmas period which is always full of new gamers getting new consoles.

Unsurprisingly, FIFA 23 and Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II absolutely dominate on both the PS5 and the PS4, with the US/Canada having Modern Warfare II take the top spot and FIFA follow behind, whilst the EU flips them around with FIFA first and Modern Warfare II second. Call of Duty does top the EU in the free-to-play category with Call of Duty: Warzone 2.0, which in the US/Canada is pushed into second place thanks to Fortnite ruling in the region.

Sony’s big November release God of War Ragnarök performed nicely on the charts, but couldn’t break into the Top 5 of any region on any platform. In the US/Canada it sits at #7 and #9 on the PS5 and PS4 respectively, also being at #7 in the EU on PS5 and dropping to #10 on the PS4.
