Netflix released a new teaser trailer for the upcoming Junji Ito anime project, Junji Ito Maniac: Japanese Tales of the Macabre, coming in January.
The Netflix Anime channel on YouTube released a brand-new teaser trailer for the upcoming Junji Itō Maniac: Japanese Tales of the Macabre anime project. The anime series will be based on a selection of the horror author’s original manga works, and is scheduled to be available on the Netflix platform.
The new teaser features a brief glimpse at the anime adaptation of Tomie: Photo, one of the more famous works by Junji Itō that will be brought to the small screen in the upcoming series. Junji Itō Maniac: Japanese Tales of the Macabre is scheduled to be released on January 19, 2023.
Junji Itō Maniac is the first-ever anime adaptation of 20 different works by the author from his Junji Itō Masterworks Collection, but also includes stories from The Hanging Balloons; Sōichi and Tomie. Some featured titles include Bullied; Gravetown; Where the Sandman Lives; Unendurable Labyrinth; The Strange Hikizuri Siblings: The Séance; Ice Cream Truck and Library of Illusions.
